G4 Racing completed a highly encouraging weekend at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, overcoming rapidly changing weather conditions that saw the track alternate between dry and wet throughout the event.

Heavy rainfall played a major role during the weekend, forcing organizers to cancel Race 2 and bring Race 1 forward in an effort to maximize track time. Despite the challenging circumstances and a disrupted schedule, the team demonstrated strong pace and continuous progress across all sessions.

Sunday proved to be the turning point of the weekend, as everything came together for G4 Racing and its drivers. Strong qualifying performances laid the foundation for a successful final race, highlighted by Marcus Saeter securing fifth place in his qualifying group.

In Race 3, G4 Racing’s drivers made significant gains, collecting valuable positions that will prove important in the championship battle. Saeter delivered an impressive drive to finish seventh overall, earning the team’s first championship points of the season and claiming his second Rookie class victory.

“We had a positive week at Spa in terms of performance. We had very good pace throughout the weekend. Race 1 was wet, which was my first time racing in these conditions, and I learned a lot. The next day, we qualified 17th overall despite some mistakes and made our way up to P11 with some good overtakes until the incident happened, which resulted in a DNF. But overall, it was a positive weekend, and we had the pace to finish in the top five. We move on and focus on Monza.” Saqer Almaosherji #3

For Rahim Alibhai, the weekend offered valuable learning opportunities despite the limited racing action caused by the weather and multiple safety car periods.

“Crazy weekend at Spa. Driving through Eau Rouge was mega, especially in the rain. The amount of racing was compromised with a cancelled race and a lot of safety cars, but despite this, I was able to gather a lot of experience from the different conditions.” Rahim Alibhai #23

Meanwhile, Marcus Saeter reflected on the team’s progress and the confidence gained from securing its first championship points of the season.

“I think we’re working very hard as a team and, with such a long championship ahead of us, there’s still plenty to play for. If we keep progressing like this, I’m confident we can achieve something special by the end of the season. It was a great weekend here at Spa and now the focus shifts to Monza, a circuit I know well. With its long straights, managing the Race Mode push-to-pass system will be particularly important, so we’ll need to be smart and strategic in how we use it throughout the race. We’ve been working hard together at G4 Racing, especially after the Red Bull Ring weekend didn’t go the way we wanted. We spent a lot of time analysing what went wrong and identifying the areas where we could improve. I think we’ve done a good job, and this weekend’s result shows that we’re moving in the right direction.” Marcus Saeter #67

“Spa always feel like home. Here in 2021 was our first victory in F3R and this year for the first time showed our true potential. The 3 drivers did a good step in the correct direction over the event. The first points of season and rookie victory for Marcus in Race 3 fuels our motivation and ambition. Next stop is Monza, another circuit that feels like home where good memories come to our mind.” Adrian Muñoz, Sporting and Technical Manager

Overall, the Spa-Francorchamps weekend marked a significant step forward for G4 Racing. The team’s growing competitiveness, combined with its first points finish and another Rookie victory, provides strong momentum heading into the next round of the championship at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, where the team will look to continue its upward trajectory.
