Swiss squad G4 Racing continued its preparation work for the 2023 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at Circuit Paul Ricard.
After the opening test session at Barcelona, reigning French Formula 4 Champion Alessandro Giusti was back behind the wheel for the team, owned by the Gnos family, after only a 2-day break.
In France, Giusti and G4 Racing tried the new rear wing introduced by the series for 2023. In the four sessions, Giusti had the chance to run 125 laps, focusing on tyre management and race simulations.
Two collective test days are still to be run at Monza on April 11th and 12th.
Adrian Muñoz (Sporting and Technical Manager): “Paul Ricard has been a learning curve for Alessandro as he continued the work he started at Barcelona. We tested the new rear wing endplates for the first time and focused the job on race sim and pace where Alessandro has continued improving and learning how to properly manage the tyres. Two more days at Monza are awaiting us before the start of the season”.
Alessandro Giusti (Driver): “The second official pre-season test at Paul Ricard was good, even if more difficult compared to the previous one at Barcelona. In the end, we found the correct direction, and now we know where I can find the extra speed that I missed. It was a great learning experience, and I’m confident we will achieve better results soon. Thanks to the team for their support and hard work”.
