G4 Racing opened its 2026 FIA Formula Regional European Championship campaign at the Red Bull Ring, showing promising pace and collecting valuable experience despite a challenging first weekend of the season.
Across the three races, several on-track incidents prevented stronger overall results, but the team leaves Austria encouraged by the performance shown throughout the event. The main highlight came in Race 1, where Marcus Saeter secured Rookie victory, giving G4 Racing an early positive result to start the championship.

“Overall, quite a frustrating weekend for myself. Pre-season testing and practice on Friday at Red Bull Ring looked quite promising pace-wise. However, the race weekend itself was unfortunate with a lot of messy incidents, with some being unavoidable. Definitely some learnings to take forward to Zandvoort in a few weeks, especially with race craft in gauging on-track battles around other cars, given how close the field is this year. Looking forward to resetting and focusing on the double-header for Round 2 and 3 attempting to achieve a better result, which I am confident I can do.”

“The past weekend in Red Bull Ring was filled with difficulties through the weekend. However, we will work harder for the next double header in Zandvoort and Spa!”
Marcus Saeter #67
“The first race weekend was definitely a challenging one, with both highs and lows throughout the event. We faced a few difficult moments, but there were also positive signs and valuable experiences to take away from the weekend. Even though the results were not always what we hoped for, I learned a lot in different situations and gained important experience that will help me improve moving forward. Overall, it was a tough but very useful weekend, and I’m confident we can build on what we learned for the next rounds.”

“Not the best start of season, we had lot of ups and down. After last pre-season testing, we were confident to reach the first race of season well prepared, but we found a lot of on track incidents that prevented better results. Rookie victory of Marcus in Race 1 gives us a positive to take from weekend but we must evaluate and analyze all event in order to continue the evolution and improving. Next stop is double header in Zandvoort and Spa.”
G4 Racing now turns its focus to the upcoming double-header rounds at Zandvoort and Spa-Francorchamps, determined to build on the positives from the opening weekend.
