G4 Racing and Alessandro Giusti were major stars again in last week’s Formula Regional European by Alpine’s Spielberg event. The Swiss squad and the French racer, who is in his rookie year, dominated the weekend at Red Bull Ring. While they had cruised to a pole and a win in the previous event at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet before the summer break, the combination continued its winning ways as the series came back into action.

Giusti cruised to win race 2 from pole position after scoring P2, and the fastest lap of his group qualifying, in the first one. He put up a stellar pace, perfectly assisted by his car, prepared for him by the technical staff of Patrick Gnos’ team, led by Adrian Munoz. Between Le Castellet and Spielberg, Giusti totaled 78 points, which propelled him to provisional sixth place in the driver championship.

Michael Belov also experienced a positive weekend as he ended the two races in the points zone in P9 and P10. He secured top-10 finishes eight times this season. On the other hand, Pierre-Alexandre Provost, who joined the series mid-season, is making the right steps forward to increase his experience.

Alessandro Giusti (Driver #3): “It was a very good weekend. We did an amazing job with the team, and set up the car perfectly for the weekend. From that point on, everything was nearly perfect with a win and a second place.”

Pierre-Alexandre Provost (Driver #28): “It was a difficult round this weekend at Spielberg, but even if the results were not what we expected, I continued to learn a lot, and I would like thank all the G4 Racing for the great work.”

Michael Belov (Driver #30): “The Red Bull Ring weekend was better than in Paul Ricard. We got a strong qualy 1, which help us on the grid because overtakes were very difficult. We then finished P5 on the line in Race 1, but dropped to P9 because of a 5-second penalty. Sunday was not our day with traffic and contact in Qualy 2. In Race 2 we were able to go from P17 to P10. We scored a point, but we just need to start higher.”

Adrian Muñoz (Sporting & Technical Manager): “It was a great weekend for the team overall. The pace was there since the first session. Alessandro had very strong results, confirming his improvements and growth as a driver. As a rookie, he continues to surprise us event after event. Pierre Alexandre continued his learning process, as this was only his second race this season. Red Bull Ring was a good experience for him to improve in all aspects. Michael had a good weekend, considering the problems he previously had at Paul Ricard. Q1 and Race 1 showed a good amount of speed. Q2 was messy for him due to traffic as he was forced off track. This compromised his Race 2, where he had a good pace and finished in the points in the end.”
