At Monza, G4 Racing signed off its 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine season, the last under the guise of the French brand. As for our drivers, Edu Robinson, Saqer Almaosherji and Édouard Borgna, it was a hard-fought battle until the final day of racing. They left nothing on track, and although it was not the best of the seasons, the whole crew left Italian soil with the feeling that everything had been put on the table. With our sight already set on the next challenge, consisting in a brand new championship directly supported by the FIA, here are the declarations from our trio, other than from our Sporting & Technical Manager, Adrián Muñoz.
Édouard Borgna (Driver #2):
“First time discovering the legendary Monza circuit this weekend. It’s a track that looks simple on paper but is much more demanding in reality, where it’s very easy to lose time. The cool conditions made tyre warm-up tricky in qualifying, and during the race we experienced an oil-pressure issue that caused a loss of power. Still, it was a valuable weekend, and I took away a lot of experience from such a unique and historic track.”
Saqer Almaosherji (Driver #3):
“It was a tough weekend overall as it was my first time in Monza, and missing Friday practice made it even more challenging. However, I was improving session by session and closing the gap. Thank you to G4 Racing for helping me grow as a driver throughout the season. It has been a huge learning curve.”
Edu Robinson (Driver #35):
“The season has now come to an end, and I take away a very positive year. Stepping up from F4 to FRECA meant a lot to learn, but race by race we kept improving and getting closer to fighting for strong results. A big thanks to the team for all the hard work and for making this possible.”
Adrián Muñoz (Sporting & Technical Manager):
“The final FRECA race of the season didn’t bring the results we had hoped for. The drivers made a good effort adapting to the cold track conditions, but luck was not on our side in the races. Sunday also marked the end of the current championship format. It has been a real journey across the past seasons, and overall, we finish this project proud of the work done and the development of all drivers who have been part of our team. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank the entire Alpine Racing/Renault Sport organization for their commitment and dedication over the last 50 years in supporting feeder series and developing champions. The future is bright and exciting, and the hard work for the next chapter of Formula Regional has already begun.”
