The opening round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at Misano proved to be a positive start for G4 Racing. All three drivers, making their debut in the series, successfully reached the finish line. Kacper Sztuka crossed the line in 18th place after a spin in the closing stages, Edouard Borgna secured 19th, and Arthur Aegerter completed the race in 23rd. These results provide a solid foundation and confidence heading into the rest of the weekend.
As Saturday, the second race in Misano of the Regional European by Alpine also saw the three G4 Racing cars at the finish line. Kacper Sztuka, who started 19th, recovered strongly to finish 14th while Edouard Borgna, 21st on the grid, finished 19th, first among the rookies. An important result for the young Frenchman making his debut in the category. Arthur Aegerter made significant improvements during the Misano weekend and after the 25th place in qualifying 2, in race 2 he finished 21st.
Edouard Borgna (Driver #2):
“This weekend in Misano marked an important milestone for me, with my FRECA debut as part of the G4 Racing team. I gained valuable experience and made rapid progress throughout the event. In Race 2, I was proud to finish as the top rookie. I’m really enjoying driving the FRECA car and hope to carry this positive momentum into the next rounds. The upcoming race at Spa-Francorchamps will be another opportunity to keep improving and building on this strong start.”
Arthur Aegerter (Driver #3):
“This weekend marked my first-ever race in the FRECA championship, and I’m still working to fully adapt to the car and the competition level. Misano is such an iconic and beautiful circuit, and thanks to the incredible support from the team, it was a challenging yet unforgettable experience.”
Kacper Sztuka (Driver #35):
“This was my first time driving a FRECA car, and I really enjoyed discovering the unique driving style and working closely with the team to make improvements.
While the final results didn’t reflect our true potential, we know the pace was there — and that’s what matters most moving forward.”
Adrián Muñoz (Sporting and Technical Manager):
“The first event of the season is already in the books. Misano was a challenge, as it was the first time this circuit was part of the FRECA calendar. Our drivers and team members gave their best, but we were a bit unlucky having all three drivers placed in the same qualifying group. Despite that, we kept pushing and secured a Rookie win with Edouard in Race 2. Next stop is Spa — one of the most iconic circuits in motorsport and a track that brings back great memories for our team.”
