The month of September, for G4 Racing, kicked off with round number seven of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, which took place at the Red Bull Ring of Spielberg.

Once again, it was a weekend of learning for the team, which welcomed Saqer Almoasherji among its ranks. On Friday, both collective test sessions showed good signs for Edu Robinson, a hint that turned out to be true the following day, where the Spaniard was able to achieve an impressive ninth in the first qualifying session.

Unfortunately, race one for Robinson was compromised by the start, and after losing several places at first he managed to end up inside the top twenty. Fate was cruel to Almoasherji as well, since he was caught in an incident, while Borgna managed to escape from all kinds of contact and conducted a collected performance.

On Sunday, the final day, Robinson showed his speed by executing a good qualifying once again, and – despite results not showing it – there were improvements for Almoasherji and Borgna too. Coming to the second race, this time Robinson didn’t miss the start, but got stuck in the traffic and couldn’t achieve more than 18th, while Almoasherji was forced to change his front wing and Borgna, eventually, kept it consistent for the second time.

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will now face a two-week break. We are going to return to the track for the eighth round of the season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with two races that we are proudly going to consider as our home ones.

Edouard Borgna (Driver #2):
“The seventh round of the championship marked my first experience at the legendary Red Bull Ring. With so few corners, the gaps were extremely tight, which made every detail matter. I learned a lot throughout the weekend, and now I clearly know where to focus and how to solve the issues we faced. My full attention is now on Barcelona, a track I know well.”

Saqer Almoasherji (Driver #3):
“Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on our side this weekend. In Race 1, I was caught up in an incident that forced me to change the front wing, but after that the pace was strong. In Race 2, I lost a front wing flap for some reason, which again required a change and affected the race. Still, I felt I made progress as a driver this weekend thanks to the team’s support, and I’m confident we can fight for a strong result in Barcelona.”

Edu Robinson (Driver #35):
“It was great to be back in the car after the summer break. We take some positives from this weekend, especially closing the gap to the cars ahead and securing a top-10 result in qualifying. A big thanks to the team for their hard work. We keep learning and pushing forward.”

Adrián Muñoz (Technical and Sporting Manager):
“Luck wasn’t on our side this weekend. We showed good pace and made improvements after every session, but a few incidents prevented us from achieving stronger results. Overall, we leave the Red Bull Ring with optimism, as our drivers are developing in the right direction. Next stop: Barcelona.”
