It was a very positive weekend for G4 Racing in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at Imola. On the demanding Italian circuit, the Spanish team led by Patrick Gnos fielded three cars and welcomed back Kacper Sztuka, who had previously raced in the season opener at Misano. Alongside the Polish driver were Edouard Borgna and Edu Robinson.
In the second qualifying session, Sztuka secured a spot in the overall top ten, finishing 9th: G4 Racing’s best result of the 2025 season so far. Robinson also showed consistent pace, staying within the top 20 in both qualifying sessions.
In Race 1, Robinson started 20th and finished 12th after a strong race, while Sztuka, who had been unlucky in Qualifying 1 and started 24th, made his way up to 13th. Both showed good pace and were well supported by the G4 Racing cars. Borgna also did well, climbing from 29th to 22nd.
In Race 2, Sztuka started from the fifth row, but on the first lap he was pushed off track by another driver and damaged his front wing. He had to pit to replace it, which ended his chances of a good result. A real shame for him and for G4 Racing, as they had a good chance to score their first points of the season. Robinson had another solid race, going from 16th to 13th, while Borgna moved up from 29th to 25th.
The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine now takes a one-month break and will be back at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on the weekend of September 7.
